Bernard Joseph "Bernie" Wittkofski Bernard Joseph Wittkofski, age 82, of Morris, previously of Plainfield and Lockport, passed away peacefully on March 22, 2025, with his loving family by his side. He was born October 24, 1942, in Lockport, IL the son of the late Bernard and Bernice (nee Herman). Bernie graduated from Taft Grade School in Lockport, IL, and Lockport Township High School Class of 1960. He retired from Will County Printing after many years of dedicated service. He was a member of the Graphic Communications International Union, and Loyal Order of the Moose-Lockport Lodge 1557 since 1964. Bernie was a former board member of the Pure Rod and Gun Club, Plainfield, IL, former Troy Township Volunteer Firefighter, and former volunteer for the Will County EMA Snowmobile Rescue Squad, where he helped to rescue motorists stranded on Interstate 55 during the blizzard of 1979 and other inclement weather rescues. Bernie was a strong and honorable man, effortlessly forming friendships
