Jerry Belt Born: October 17, 1935 in Morris, IL Died: August 9, 2024 in Morris, IL Roger Gerald (Jerry) Belt, 88 passed away peacefully Friday morning, August 9, 2024, at his home. He was born, October 17, 1935 at Morris Hospital. He was the son of the late Roger and Jessie (Broderick) Belt. He was raised and educated in Morris, graduating from Morris High School with the class of 1954. In 1954 Jerry began working at Wilson Chevrolet in Morris. In June, 1958, Jerry received a draft notice which ordered him to report to the Armed Forces Induction Center in Chicago, at which time he entered into the service of his country as a member of the United States Army. Jerry was sent to Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri where he underwent his basic training. Over the next two years, Jerry served in a transportation company near Inchon Harbor in the Republic of South Korea. He ended his required service while stationed at Fort Lewis, Washington, where on June 10, 1960 he received an honorable discharge
