John D. Marx Born: May 7, 1953 Died: June 17, 2024 John D. Marx age 71, of Morris, Illinois, passed away June 16, 2024, at Lightways Hospice, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was born May 7, 1953, in Olney, Illinois, the son of Robert A. and Ellen (Bratsch) Marx. He graduated from Morris Community High School with the class of 1972. He was a jack of all trades working many jobs, most recently as a semi-truck driver hauling grain. He married his high school sweetheart, Debra (Deb) Vilt on February 17, 1973. They made their home in Morris, where they raised their family. He loved spending time with his family and friends; and in his younger days, camping and riding his motorcycles. He attended First Baptist Church of Morris. John never met a stranger and was known for his kind words and ready smile for everyone.
