Karen M. Allbert Born: February 19, 1943 Died: May 26, 2024 Karen M. Allbert, age 81, of Joliet, passed away Sunday, May 26, 2024 at Pavilion of Ottawa, with her loving family by her side. Born February 19, 1943 in Joliet, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Bertha (Planinsek) Hofer, and was a graduate of St. Francis Academy. Karen attended the Joliet School of Beauty Culture and enjoyed doing hair for several years prior to embarking on a long and rewarding career as a Fingerprint Technician for the Illinois State Police Crime Lab, retiring after nearly 30 years of service. In her retirement she continued to apply her craft for an additional 10 years in identifying fingerprints for the Will County Sheriff's Department. A loving and devoted mother and grandmother, she led a quiet life made richer by her many pets, especially her beloved dog, Rio. Surviving are her two beloved sons, Jason R. Allbert and Monty (Jeanette) Allbert; two adoring grandsons, Trevor and Austin Allbe
